How to Play Checkers

Select a dark piece to see its legal moves. A jump is required whenever a capture is available. Land on the highlighted square to complete the move, and continue a multi-jump when another capture is available.

Checkers Strategy & Tips

Protect pieces near the edge, look ahead for forced captures, avoid giving the opponent an easy double jump, and advance pieces toward promotion when the route is safe. Reaching the back row creates a King with forward and backward movement.

The board scales to smaller screens and uses touch-friendly controls, while desktop players can use the same click-to-move interaction. The game keeps the existing Cyber AI, Local 2-Player, and Challenge Mode options in one browser experience.

What are the rules of checkers?

In this online American Checkers game, pieces move diagonally on the dark squares. Captures are mandatory when a jump is available, and consecutive jumps can continue when another capture is available. A regular piece that reaches the opponent's back row is promoted to a King and can move and capture in both directions.
